The project involved the installation of two photovoltaic systems at two production sites of NUTRISTAR S.p.A., a company specializing in the production of animal feed and supplements for the Italian dairy industry. The first system, a 60.06 kWp system, is located at Via del Paracadutista 9 in Reggio Emilia, and the second system, a 19.565 kWp system, is located at Via del Paracadutista 8 in Reggio Emilia.

Properly addressing dairy cow nutrition requires precision. Although the importance of precision feeding has been discussed for years, this approach isn’t always put into practice: to be successful, you need more than just numbers, but also the knowledge to apply them correctly in every situation. Rumilab, Nutristar S.p.A.’s in-house laboratory, was founded with the goal of analyzing everything needed to feed a ruminant.

What will be the most beneficial diets that can be implemented in the near future? Possible strategies certainly begin with the countryside, which will have to provide the largest portion of the diet of cows and unproductive animals present, not only in terms of dry matter but also of energy and protein.
